Take a look at one of our latest projects completed at Cuckney House, for Welbeck Estate. The design brief was to transform the Grade II Listed 18th century Manor House into a high-specification self-catering accommodation. Once used in the film ‘Testament of Youth’, the proposals restore the historical details and respect the existing room layouts to provide sleeping accommodation for 31 guests, dining and function rooms, and an outdoor eating area within a striking countryside and woodland setting.

Foris Solutions provided £200K worth of Aged Brass finished Ironmongery and 57No door sets and 4No screens plus working with fire consultants IFC, Foris were able to provide the stunning 3.5 x 3m FD60 fire rated glazed screen.’

The challenge on this project was to meet both design and performance requirements for fire rating whilst maintaining the look and feel of existing doors in this beautiful grade 2 listed building.

The internal raise and fielded panel doors were constructed from solid laminate timber door cores giving severe duty performance rating, and compliance to fire and acoustic regulations.

Existing internal doors were surveyed to ensure moulding profiles were matched and panel types and design could be replicated.

Solid Sapele traditional mortice and tenon joinery construction doors were provided for external openings. This provided longevity in design for years to come and matched the existing traditional aesthetic of the building.

A challenge for the project was to provide fire compliance to ensure the building was safe for future use. The client approached Foris to design and ornate arched fire rated glazed screen and door set to compartmentalise areas from fire risk.
